Copenhagen International Film Festival

Held from August 18 through 28, the 3rd Copenhagen International Film Festival is presenting 115 films from 24 European countries. France will be in the spotlight with a special day dubbed “Face the French” as well as a “French Flavor” section created at the initiative of the French Embassy, Unifrance, and TV5.

This year’s guest of honor at this prestigious Danish festival is Costa-Gavras, who will be accompanied by Amos Gitai, Pierre Jolivet, Radu Mihaileanu, André Téchiné, Cécile Telerman, and Laurent Tirard at the event.

The “Face the French” program, presented at the Grand Teatret Saturday August 20, included the following films:
- “Le Promeneur du Champ de Mars” by Robert Guédiguian
- “Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran” by François Dupeyron (Danish distributor: Sunrise Film Distribution)
- “Zim and co. (La Caisse)” by Pierre Jolivet
- “Les Poupées Russes” (“The Russian Dolls“) by Cédric Klapisch
- “Thirtyfive-Something” by Cécile Telerman (presented in a preview screening with its Danish distributor Miracle Films)
- “Changing Times” by André Téchiné

20 other French films are showcased in the “French Flavor” section:
- “Little Jerusalem” by Karin Albou
- “One Stays, The Other Leaves” by Claude Berri
- “Immortel (Ad Vitam)” by Enki Bilal
- “Iznogoud” by Patrick Braoudé
- “Le Couperet” by Costa-Gavras (presented in a preview screening with its distributor Sandrew Metronome), together with ”Amen,” ”The Confession, ” ”State of Siege,” and ”Z,” also by Costa-Gavras
- “Free Zone” by Amos Gitaï
- “The Daltons” by Philippe Haïm (in a preview screenings with its distributor SF Film)
- “Life is a Miracle” by Emir Kusturica (festival opener/Camera Film)
- “Intimate Strangers” by Patrice Leconte (Camera Film)
- “36 Quai des orfèvres” by Olivier Marchal (in a preview screening with its distributor Nordisk Film)
- “Go, See, and Become” by Radu Mihaileanu (in a preview screening with its distributor Miracle Films)
- “The Syrian Bride” by Eran Riklis
- “Holy Lola” by Bertrand Tavernier
- “Mensonges et trahisons et plus si affinité... ” by Laurent Tirard
- “Kilomètre zéro” by Hiner Saleem
