"Le Film français" Trophies
Thursday, January 23, the 10th "Le Film français" Trophies - awarded by the leading French movie magazine - were announced at the Espace Cardin, Paris, honoring the most outstanding films and personalities of 2002.
This year, the "Trophy of Trophies" for the number 1 film at the box office in 2002 went to "Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra" by Alain Chabat. Pedro Almodovar picked up the "European Film Trophy" for the number 1 European film at the box office for "Talk to Her." The award for Best French Film was won by "If I Were a Rich Man" by Michel Munz and Gérard Bitton.
The award for Exhibitor of the Year went to Jean-Jacques Schpolianski, director of the cinema Le Balzac.
The "Duo Cinema Trophy" was awarded to "8 Women" by François Ozon, the "Duo Television Trophy" went to the TV series "Age Sensible," produced by Capa, and the "Duo Revelation Trophy" was given to "Whatever You Say" by Guillaume Canet. The Duo and Exhibitor’s Trophies were awarded by juries composed of industry professionals.
Finally, Régine Vial, distributor with Les Films du Losange, was voted Personality of the Year by readers of "Le Film Français," honoring in particular the exceptional performance of the documentary "To Be and To Have" by Nicolas Philibert.
