2011 Cesar nominations

The nominations for the French movie industry's Cesar Awards were unveiled this morning.

Of Gods and Men by Xavier Beauvois leads the pack with 11 nominations including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor for Lambert Wilson.
The other nominees in the Best Film category are: Heartbreaker by Pascal Chaumeil (with 5 nominations), Gainsbourg by Joann Sfar (8 nominations), Mammuth by Benoît Delépine and Gustave Kervern (3 nominations), The Name of Love by Michel Leclerc (4 nominations), The Ghost Writer by Roman Polanski (8 nominations), and On Tour by Mathieu Amalric (7 nominations).

Vying for the Best Actor Award are Gérard Depardieu for Mammuth, Romain Duris for Heartbreaker, Éric Elmosnino for Gainsbourg, Jacques Gamblin for The Name of Love, and Lambert Wilson for Of Gods and Men.
The nominees for Best actress include Isabelle Carré for her role in Romantics Anonymous, Catherine Deneuve for Potiche, Sara Forestier for The Name of Love, Charlotte Gainsbourg for The Tree, and Kristin Scott Thomas for Sarah's Key.

Five directors are competing for Best Director honors: Mathieu Amalric for On Tour, Olivier Assayas for Carlos, Xavier Beauvois for Of Gods and Men, Bertrand Blier for The Clink of Ice, and Roman Polanski for The Ghost Writer.

Five films are nominated in the Best Short Film category: Logorama by the H5 collective, Monsieur l'Abbé by Blandine Lenoir, Petit Tailleur by Louis Garrel, Un transport en commun by Dyana Gaye, and Une pute et un poussin by Clément Michel.
