One day, Molom, an old shaman and a messenger of life whose soul can become an eagle, a pilgrim, anything... finds Yonden, a lost child raised by wolves. As they travel across the Mongolian steppe, their adventures, funny or terrifying, mysterious or surprising, allow Yonden, the "little wolf", to learn about generosity, compassion, and self-knowledge, under the benevolent eye of his new master. Yonden will become a little pilgrim of peace, alone and free on the steppe, a shaman like his master Molom.
"There was something tactile about this experience... A way of being in harmony with the spirits of earth and heaven. The film shows another dimension, with its powerful and riche natural life. And then there's the love of this old man and this child... This unique relationship, so neglected today and yet so tender. Every child could feel this simple and powerful love for its grandparents or its masters when it too is ready to give. This love can illuminate a whole life."
(Marie Jaoul de Poncheville, from an interview with Laure Adler)
