When she finds an abandoned copy of "Diary of a Seducer" on a park bench, Claire Conti doesn't know that she is caught up in a fatal plot. Grégoire, the owner of the book, is a gloomy and romantic young man who lives with his grandmother, locked away in a large turn-of-the-century house. Like the heroine of "Diary of a Seducer", Claire doesn't yet realise that she is the prey in a plan of seduction that has been designed to ensnare her by Sébastien, her best friend temporarily staying with her mother.
"People in love amuse me and interest me in everyday life. They are in an exceptional and therefore captivating state. In movies, I'd rather watch people dealing with that rather than with everyday problems. They seem to lose themselves under the influence of that celebrated emotion that is also the enigma of the film. They all become a little crazy. Just as one of the analyst's patients says that he likes crazy people because they're creative, I too have a penchant for unusual people, the lunatics who reinterpret reality with surprising lucidity."
