“Le Traité du hasard” tells the story of a small group of friends in Paris from 1995 to the present day. All, in their various ways, are confronted with the reality of HIV. One of them develops AIDS but survives, thanks to the arrival of three-drug therapy.
This film is based on the “event” of AIDS among my contemporaries, the people of my generation and those after it; the “event” of sickness and death; the terror of this event; and also the fact that I myself, at times, experienced this terror with a kind of wonder, monstrous though it may seem to use such a word in this context.
