Two men, Bo and Bu, live in a large mud house where the steppes meet the desert, some 6,500 miles from New York. They're accompanied by a donkey, two camels, a guard dog and goats. Everyday they tan hides, drink rice vodka and smoke opium. One day, Bo finds a young woman lost in the desert, weak from exhaustion. He takes her back, nurses her, dresses her. Thus his son Ba also discovers what a woman with blue eyes and blond hair looks like. A ménage à trois begins; at night, despite the howling wind, Bu can hear the groans as his father satisfies his desire. Meanwhile, a silent relationship of glances and gestures springs up between the son and the woman. Tension between father and son continues to mount, ultimately creating a harsh, violent atmosphere, until the inevitable occurs...
