あらすじ
A new-born baby is found in a snowy Moscow street. Abandoned on the centenary of Anton Chekhov's birthday, the child is given the famous Russian writer's name in the hope that it will one day protect him from the delinquency into which so many young orphans fall. But Anton Chekhov has a double destiny – he will become both writer and gangster.

About
The expression "sky in diamonds" was first used by Anton Chekhov in "Uncle Vania." The words are spoken by a girl by battered by life, patiently waiting for her end to come so she at last can find peace and begin a new joyful existence free of cares. The expression continues to strike a chord in the hearts of present-day Russians. But in the film, unlike Chekhov's heroine, the man says the words with irony. I wanted to reassure my fellow Russians, at the mercy of history's whims, caught in an inextricable tangle of tragic, comic, fantastic, romantic, criminal and - in one sense - absurd events.
Vassili Pitchoul - Director, excerpt from the press folder
