あらすじ
After "Les Enfants du Soleil" in which ferdinand Faure, a young actor from Aix-en-Provence arrived in Paris and received his sentimental education at the hands of Clémence, our hero now tackles the terrible hardships of stage training. Indeed, poor ferdinand finds himself up against Ariane, Ariane the Great of the Cartoucherie Theatre. The actors all do improvisations in Commedia dell'arte masks. Between the distress of Bruno who can't manage to "get into" the troupe and the insistence of Ariane who urges all the masked actors to step beyond their private defences, something crazy, funny and desperate emerges : the Golden Age !

About
"I Told Bernard Dartigues : "Film me the way you film insects, animals or peasants. The sound of the audience, its laughter, will be the sounds of the trade; like the sea for the sailor, the storm for the peasant or the factory for the worker." I virtually had to hypnotize myself every evening to forget that while I was acting out my own film, another was being shot. The cameras were concealed, the crew hidden. As soon as I saw someone from the crew, I fled like a timorous animal. I would freak out, make mistakes and the filming would stop. However, in the space of a few day, thanks to a few tricks, I forgot everything and performed. Indeed, we chose these final performances because I knew that they would be the last ones and that each evening was devouring an enormous part of my life - the fifteen years of "Le Roman d'un acteur" and the ten previous ones spent living it. People frequently say that the cinema films death at work. Here that was well and truly the case. (Philippe Caubère)
