The Wounded Knee and the Standing Man
あらすじ
One morning, Jonas, 14, finds his mother dead. Left to his own devices, he travels miles in order to find his father, whom he has not seen for years. But he cannot find the strength to tell him the news. His father, believing that his son has run away from home, encourages him to return. They finally decide to wait for the first train the following morning. Observing the life of his father, split between the factory where he works and his hotel room, Jonas discovers that his father had given everything up after being rejected by the woman he loved. Imperceptibly, these few hours together bring a closeness between the two men, and by morning, Jonas's father learns of his wife's death.
