UniFrance films and TitraFilm announce a collaborative partnership
UniFrance, the association whose mission is to promote and support the export of French films around the world, and TitraFilm, the world's pioneer in subtitling, have signed a partnership agreement that will take effect in October 2015.
UniFrance will now be drawing on the expertise of TitraFilm for the subtitling of short films and feature films to be screened at our major events, notably the Rendez-vous with French Cinema in Paris (whose 18th edition will be held from January 14 through 18, 2016), our Online French Film Festival, MyFrenchFilmFestival (with its 6th edition to be held from January 15 through February 15, 2016), the French Film Panorama in China (to be held in spring 2016 in Beijing, Shanghai and provincial cities), the Cannes International Film Festival (May 2016), the Annecy International Animation Film Festival (June 2016), and the フランス映画祭（日本） (June 2016).
Titra Film will also provide support to short films promoted by UniFrance films through the following initiatives:
- Provision of grants in the form of technical services of dubbing, subtitling, and the creation of DCPs and DVDs, available to winners of awards presented by UniFrance films at the Cannes, Grenoble, and Trouville Film Festivals.
- Sponsoring of the Networking Breakfasts organized by UniFrance films at the Cannes, Annecy, and Clermont-Ferrand Film Festivals.
Isabelle Giordano, UniFrance films' executive director, stated: "We are delighted to be able to call on the renowned expertise of this historic company in the French movie sector, who will now provide linguistic services for subtitling, dubbing, and the provision of key components, including encoding for the Netflix, iTunes, Vudu, and Amazon platforms, with the aim of ensuring UniFrance films and our members the widest possible distribution for French films around the world in the best possible conditions for these productions, via both physical and digital media channels."
Sophie Frilley and David Frilley, directors of TitraFilm (fourth generation directors of this family-run independent firm) welcomed this "strategic partnership with a key player in raising the cultural and commercial profile of French cinema and promoting its development in the international arena that organizes many leading global industry events. We are proud to join forces with UniFrance films to continue the work initiated by our teams since the invention of subtitling, in order to allow French films to circulate around the world."
