The upcoming French Film Festival in the Czech Republic will be held in five cities across the country from November 18 through 29, 2015.
At the heart of this 18th edition of the festival is a selection of 12 French films presented in preview screenings (The Brand New Testament, Family for Rent, エール!, Diary of a Chambermaid, The Little Prince, Affaire SK1, In the Shadow of Women, Far From Men, A Perfect Man, My Golden Days, Microbe and Gasoline), which will travel from Prague to Brno, via Ceske Budejovice, Hradec Kralové, and Ostrava.
The Prague leg of the event will feature the Czech Critics' Choice section, which will showcase 9 new films competing for the TV5 Monde Audience Prize (Nos femmes, The Clearstream Affair, Florida, A Simple Man, Entre amis, Vincent, Daddy or Mommy, Eden, and Winter Song).
The ELLE(S) section will pay tribute to legendary French actresses, with screenings of a selection of cinema classics (Pierrot le Fou, シェルブールの雨傘, Every Man for Himself / Slow Motion, 日曜日が待ち遠しい !, 突然炎のごとく) preceded by the short film 4XD, directed by Philippe Labro, which was commissioned by UniFrance films in 1964. This section will also feature a screening of the documentary Et ELLE créa la femme (2006), which traces the history of Elle magazine and highlights the way in which fashion and movies have influenced each other over the years.
A Short Film Evening will be another high point of the event, presenting 9 recent French shorts.
