This new bi-monthly article will keep you up-to-date on international travel by actors and directors as they accompany their films around the world (commercial releases, retrospectives, master classes, festivals, preview screenings, and so forth).
In May, Thomas Bidegain and Thomas Lilti traveled to スペイン for the commercial release of their films, Cowboys and Irreplaceable, respectively, while Fabienne Berthaud and Diane Kruger made the trip to ドイツ for the release of Sky, and Benoît Poelvoorde accompanied The Jews for its release in ベルギー.
On the festival front, Gaspar Noé, Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Yves Montmayeur, and Roxane Mesquida traveled to 大韓民国 to present their films at the Jeonju International Film Festival, while Philippe Grandrieux, was also in attendance to accompany a retrospective of his work and lead a master class. Mikhaël Hers went to New York for the presentation of his film サマー・フィーリング, which was included in the Young French Cinema program, an initiative that was launched in 2015 by UniFrance in partnership with the FIAF.
In early June, Thomas Bidegain was in the アメリカ合衆国 to support the release of Cowboys, while Bruno Dumont accompanied the release of Slack Bay in ベルギー, and Benoit Jacquot and Léa Seydoux traveled to New York for the release of Diary of a Chambermaid. The French Film Varilux Panorama in Brazil, which is currently in progress until June 22, welcomed a sizeable French delegation this year that included Lou De Laâge, Roschdy Zem, Finnegan Oldfield, Philippe Le Guay, Virginie Efira, and Vincent Lacoste.
