The writers, selected from submitted applications, benefit from a writing grant, access to the Meknes Animation Film Festival (FICAM), and professional mentorship.
In 2017, the residency will receive partnership support from National Film Board of Canada, Festival Anima (with support from the Belgian SACD and Wallonie-Bruxelles Images (WBI), and the Instituts Français in Algeria, Ouagadougou, and Paris.

Moreover, a partnership with the Annecy International Animation Film Festival will allow one of the African writers in residence the opportunity of presenting his or her film project during the festival's next edition, in the Mifa Pitches “Animation du monde” sessions, in June 2017.
