At the conclusion of the 31st Rendez-Vous With French Cinema in New York, which saw a significant increase in attendance (+23% compared to 2025), Unifrance and Film at Lincoln Center are pleased to announce that the 7th Rendez-Vous Audience Award was given to Colours Of Time, directed by Cédric Klapisch, and that the 5th Best Emerging Filmmaker Award, decided by a jury of six New York students, went to Leyla Bouzid for her film In a Whisper.
This is the second time that Cédric Klapisch, a favorite of New York audiences, has received the Rendez-Vous Audience Award. As a reminder, his previous award-winning films include The Dazzled (2020), Little Girl (2021), Rise (2022), For My Country (2023), The Animal Kingdom (2024), and The Marching Band (2025).
The Rendez-Vous Audience Award is decided by festivalgoers, who are invited to rate the films after each screening. At the end of the festival, one festivalgoer selected at random won, thanks to the support of Air France, a round-trip ticket for two to Paris.

The 31st edition also saw the presentation of the 5th Best Emerging Filmmaker Award to Leyla Bouzid for her film In a Whisper, an award intended to highlight the unique cinematic perspective of emerging French filmmakers (only first and second films are considered) and their interpretation of France’s new and diverse identities.
Previous films to have received the award: Anaïs in Love (2022), The Five Devils (2023), The Rapture (2024), Winter in Sokcho (2025)

The jury praised the film's cinematography, noting that it highlighted every aspect of the work and helped create a perfect harmony between emotion, storytelling, and visual art.
