The Italian jury of the 16th France Cinema Festival in Florence, the major showcase for French films in Italy, has just announced this year's award winners, with the top prize shared by "Murderous Maids" by Jean-Pierre Denis and "Nightshift" by Philippe Le Guay.
"Little Senegal" by Rachid Bouchareb and "Betty Fisher" by Claude Miller also received Special Mentions at the festival. Valérie Donzelli won the Best Actress award for her role in "Martha, Martha" by Sandrine Veysset, and Vincent Lindon was this year's Best Actor for his role in "Mercredi folle journée!". And finally, a retrospective dedicated to Jean Renoir was widely acclaimed by the Italian public.
