Cannes: the latest at Club Unifrance
Every day international press representatives meet with French artists at Club Unifrance.
Several press junkets were held Thursday and Friday, including the following:
Thursday: Anne Parillaud, Roxane Mesquida and Grégoire Colin responded to questions from some 20 journalists about the film "Sex is Comedy," presented at the Directors' Fortnight, as did Gérard Jugnot for "Monsieur Batignole," which is screened at the Market.
Friday: The cast of "Marie-Jo Et Ses Deux Amours," which was presented the previous day in competition, made themselves available to answer questions from numerous journalists, as did the crew from "Filles Perdues, Cheveux Gras" (included in the Critics' Week line-up). Dai Sijie, director of "Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress" ("Balzac Et La Petite Tailleuse Chinoise"), presented in the Un Certain Regard's selection, was also interviewed at the Pantiero.
Thursday, May 16: Kicking off at 9 p.m., the new Unifrance locale at the Pantiero held a dinner, followed by a party in honor of "Marie-Jo Et Ses Deux Amours," hosted by Diaphana.
Friday, May 17: Unifrance held its traditional lunch for French artists and international press representatives. This event provides an opportunity for all to meet up in an environment conducive to mutual exchange. Around 100 journalists came along to the Club at the Pantiero to meet with some 50 French artists, including Josiane Balasko, Ariane Ascaride, Zabou Breitman, Julie Gayet, Ludivine Sagnier, Agnès Obadia, Olivia Bonamy, Amira Casar, Gérard Jugnot, Artus de Penguern, Jean-Pierre Darroussin, Gérard Meylan, Romain Duris, Pascal Arnold, Eric and Ramzy, Aymeric Demarigny and Guillaume Canet.
Guillaume Canet also presented the promo reel of "La Voix du Maître" (his first feature film as director) in the Club Unifrance theater.
