At the invitation of Unifrance, José Garcia has just visited Spain to promote the upcoming release of "The Ax" (distributed by Wanda Films).
José Garcia was in Madrid late September to meet with the Spanish media, and to present a selection of films at the Circo de Bellas Artes. The films screened at the event – "After You," "The Seventh Day," "Laughter and Punishment," "Would I Lie to You? 2," and "Ghislan Lambert's Bicycle" – will also be screened at a later date in Santiago de Compostela and Corogne, in the region of Galicia, where Garcia's family originates from.
During his stay in Madrid, Garcia also led a masterclass together with the actor Guillermo Toledo. Speaking before an enthusiastic audience, the actors discussed national characteristics of humor and shared their respective career experiences, having both started out in television before moving into feature films.
This trip also gave Garcia the chance to return to the city of Ourense, his parents' home town, where he received the city's medal.
After promoting Richard Berry's new film, "The Black Box," Garcia will be returning to Spain to act in the latest film by Miguel Courtois.
