WAF: Web and Film Festival
The official web site for "Monsieur Batignole" by Gerard Jugnot has picked up the Grand Prix at the first Web and Film Festival in Le Touquet, France.
From November 14 through 17, the city of Le Touquet hosted the Web and Film Festival, a first-time event dedicated exclusively to film and multimedia. Founded by Claude-Helene Kleinsinger and Sophie Goldsztejn, with support from France's Centre National de la Cinematographie (CNC), this event aims to bring together the various players in this fast-expanding sector ? internet activity within the world of cinema ? and to award prizes to the year's best web sites.
At this debut festival, 30 web sites for feature films were in competition, selected prior to the event by the general public via the Internet. The jury was composed of professionals from the film and media industries: Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (actress), James Huth (director), Axel Brucker (Cannes Trailer Festival), Ruth Elkrieff (journalist), Oriane Garcia (founder of Caramail) and Sophie Benamon (Studio Magazine).
