The 35th Rotterdam International Film Festival opened its doors January 25. "C’est un jour d’été" by Franck Guérin is representing France in the official competition, alongside 13 other features.
The winners will be selected February 3 by a jury of movie industry professionals, honoring the best works with the prestigious Tiger Awards.
15 French films are included in the various festival sections: "Le Filmeur" by Alain Cavalier, "October 17, 1961" by Alain Tasma, "Alex" by José Alcala, "Everyday Lovers" by Philippe Garrel, "By the Ways: A Journey with William Eggleston" by Cédric Laty and Vincent Gérard, "Hidden" by Michael Haneke, "Code Unknown" by Michael Haneke, "Frankie" by Fabienne Berthaud, "Gabrielle" by Patrice Chéreau, "J’ai vu tuer Ben Barka" by Serge Le Péron, "J’entends plus la guitare" by Philippe Garrel, "Lili et le Baobab" by Chantal Richard, "Wild Innocence" by Philippe Garrel and "Trahison" by Philippe Faucon.
In addition to these titles, 17 minority- or majority-French co-productions will be showcased at the event. Unifrance is accompanying a delegation of French actors and directors to the festival, including Fabienne Berthaud, Chantal Richard, Baptiste Bertin, Philippe Faucon, Vincent Gérard, Franck Guérin, Cédric Laty, Serge Le Péron and Alain Tasma.
