"To Be and to Have" captivates German audiences
After its third week on the screens, the documentary by Nicolas Philibert has attracted close to 75,000 spectators in Germany, taking 13th place at the box office.
French moviegoers are not the only ones to have fallen for the charms of little Jojo and his classmates. German audiences have given a warm reception to the film by Nicolas Philibert, released January 16 by Ventura. "To Be and to Have" has tallied 16,080 admissions in its third week on German screens, taking the film to a total of 73,271 spectators and €441,033 in box office receipts.
Due to its modest release pattern (32 prints in circulation), the film registered the third best per-print average of last weekend, behind the latest Spielberg and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," standing its ground in the German Top 15. In Austria, where the film was released December 6 (Stadkino), it has pulled in 11,368 spectators, an excellent score, especially considering that just one print of the film was released.
