The French Embassy in Germany and its Film Office kicked off the 6th Berlin French Film Festival with a screening of Imposture in the presence of the film’s director Patrick Bouchitey and lead actress Laetitia Chardonnet. A host of other French artists will be in attendance throughout the week, including Fabienne Berthaud and Jeannick Gravelines for Frankie, Fabienne Godet for Sauf le respect que je vous dois, Samir for White Snow, Yolande Moreau for Quand la mer monte (When the Sea Rises, distributed in Germany by Ventura Films), Stéphane Brizé for Je ne suis pas là pour être aimé (Not Here to Be Loved, distributed in Germany by Filmdistribution), and Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu and Amira Casar for the festival’s closing film Peindre ou faire l’amour (To Paint or Make Love, distributed in Germany by Prokino).
A number of premiere screenings will also be held during the festival in partnership with German distributors. Other films in the line-up include La Moustache (The Moustache) by Emmanuel Carrère, Entre ses mains (In His Hands) by Anne Fontaine, La Petite Jérusalem (Little Jerusalem) by Karin Albou, Le Passager (The Passenger) by Eric Caravaca, Le Passager de l’été by Florence Moncorgé-Gabin, Les Petits Fils (The Grand Sons) by Ilan Duran-Cohen, Arlit, deuxième pays by Idrissou Mora Kpai, Iceberg by Dominique Abel, and Mémoires affectives by Francis Leclerc. Film screenings will be held at two cinemas in the city center until June 7.
