Mumbai Film Festival puts the spotlight on the 4th Rendez-vous event
This year's 13th Mumbai Film Festival will host the 4th Rendez-vous with French Cinema in India, co-organized by uniFrance Films and the French Embassy in India.
This special event has been included in this year's festival programming with the aim of raising local spectator awareness of French films and strengthening relations with distributors, offering them assistance in accessing new French films and releasing these productions on Indian screens.
Ten French films were selected to be showcased at the event, a highly eclectic choice of titles: The Artist (screened as opening film), Beloved, The Conquest, Coup d’éclat, The Minister, Service Entrance, Declaration of War, Snows of Kilimanjaro, The Long Falling, and Tomboy.
All up, some thirty French films will be presented in the various sections of the festival, held October 13 through 20, 2011, including My Little Princess by Eva Ionesco, which has been selected in the competition section.
Numerous French artists will be traveling to India for the event, including the directors Delphine and Muriel Coulin (17 Girls), José Alcala (Coup d’éclat), Martin Provost (The Long Falling), and Stéphane Robelin (Et si on vivait tous ensemble).
