27th Namur International Film Festival
The festival will open Friday, September 28, with a preview screening of Tango Libre, a film presented in the Official Competition.
The festival's Official Competition will be judged by a jury led by Bruno Podalydès, and will present a selection of 16 films, including Dans la maison by François Ozon, Rengaine by Rachid Djaïdani, Le reste du monde by Damien Odoul, Three Worlds by Catherine Corsini, and the co-productions Today by Alain Gomis (Senegal/France), Les Chevaux de Dieu (God's Horses) by Nabil Ayouch (Morocco/France/Belgium), Beyond the Walls by David Lambert (Belgium/Quebec/France), Kinshasa Kids by Marc-Henri Wajnberg (Belgium/France), and Yema by Djamila Sahraoui (Algeria/France).
The event will also include four other sections, showcasing documentaries and a short film program to be judged by a jury led by Amira Casar.
Benoît Magimel is the special guest of this year's Francophone Film Festival, with audiences offered the chance to discover or rediscover some of the actor's most significant roles, including the films The King Is Dancing, To Mathieu, and The Piano Teacher.
Around forty French actors and directors will travel to the Belgain city to take part in the event.
The festival will also host workshops and thematic meetings for industry professionals, to be held October 1 and 2.
