Agathe Riedinger's ‘Wild Diamond’, the only first feature film in the running for the Palme d'or, opened the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday.
The film paints the portrait of a 19-year-old girl, Liane (masterfully played by Malou Khebizi), who lives in the South of France. Obsessed with her physical appearance and her dream of becoming famous, she sets out to earn a spot on the reality TV show Miracle Island.
