音 楽の世界での成功を夢見るジョアンナ（ヴィルジニー・ルドワイヤン）とジャンヌ（マイディ・ロス）は対照的な性格ながら親友同士。明るく外交的なジョアン ナは恋にも積極的だが、ジャンヌは高い音楽の才能を持ちながらも内気でロマンティスト。そんなふたりは“人魚”というバンドで活動を続けていたがなかなか 芽がでない。だが、ジョアンナの恋人リュック（サイード・ダグマウイ）とトゥールーズヘ引っ越し、デモテープで売り込みに奔走する毎日が続く。そんな矢 先、ついにジョアンナがジャンヌの吹き替えでバックにデビューを果たす。ジャンヌの曲と“声”がファンを魅了したのだ。ジョアンナは口パクのままスターの 座をかけのぼるが、そんな日々のなか、ふたりの仲にも不協和音が生まれ始めるのだった……。

"This music is written and sung by Jeanne, the character I play, and not by me myself: Maïdi Roth, author, composer, and actress. The making of this album proved much more difficult than I'd imagined. To write "to order", based on a screenplay, avoiding all pleonasm between song lyrics and the plot of the film was already a new excercise for me. But to write and compose from the point of view of a character, to feel the words and the music as Jeanne would have, has more to do with schizophrenia than with style. I returned to the wellspring of teenage emotion for my inspiration." (Maïdi Roth)
