Louise, twenty five years old, is a young actress, deaf since birth. She has just won the Cesar award for the best actress. Louise lives with Yann, who is twenty years her senior. By all evidence their relationship is difficult – a whirlwind of uncertainties in which dream confronts anguish in the form of submission and even sadism. Louise confides in her friend Stéphanie but refuses to leave Yann because she always believes things will get better. She clings desperatly to the good times in their strange relationship. Little by little Louise finds herself in a strangehold. There is a terrible secret buried in the dephts of her body and her soul. The fantasy of this secret gradually becomes reality. Louise’s world, a world of silence, is falling apart day by day. This is true of her interior life as well as in her relations with others. She could be driven to madness or death without anyone realizing it.
