Maria is a political activist in an organization opposed to the Argentinean military dictatorship. She teaches reading and writing in the slums and lives with her mother in an old dilapidated residence where her mother rents out several rooms. Felix, one of the tenants, is a shy young man who's in love with Maria. No one knows his past, and he apparently has no family ties. Felix works as a garage security guard – at least that's what he claims. One morning, an undercover military squad kidnaps Maria as her frightened mother looks on. Amidst general indifference, she's taken to Garage Olimpo, one of the many torture centers lurking in the heart of Buenos Aires. Tiger, director of the center, has handed Maria over to one of his best men: Felix. He'll make her talk. Maria decides to go for broke: her survival, her very life, depends on Felix, her torturer.
