Shot between October 1998 and February 2000 in the cancer ward at Laënnec Hospital, the film shows the medical process at work, with all its difficulties, aims, limits, failures, successes. Death lurks on the horizon and the patients therefore have a primordial place in the film. But human fragility isn’t theirs alone. Like the patients, the medical team fights a daily battle against illness and disease. We share in their expertise, likewise their doubts and vulnerability.
