Now into their fifties, Alain and Gisèle have everything they need to lead the good life in Paris: professional success, financial comfort, a lovely apartment in Paris's swank 16th arrondissement. And yet, Gisèle is not satisfied.
On an impulse, she decides to whisk her husband off to live in Israel, for good, so that they can reconnect with their Jewish origins, which they've tended to neglect. But, they've barely arrived when the bad surprises start - and are followed by more bad surprises. Confronted by different ways of life, they quickly discover that the Promised Land isn't quite as idyllic as they pictured it back in Paris.
A new life begins, and so do the problems!
