Nothing's going right for the Human Resources manager of Jerusalem's largest bakery: he's separated from his wife, his daughter doesn't want to see him, and he's stuck in a job he hates. After the accidental death of one the bakery's female employees, a daily newspaper accuses the firm of inhumanity and indifference, revealing that nobody on the factory staff had remarked the young woman's absence. The HR manager is hence sent on a public relations mission by his boss. It's the beginning of an adventure that takes our hero from the mystical streets of Jerusalem to glacial Rumania to look for Yulia's village. He never knew Yulia, but little by little during his journey he grows to admire her. At the head of a chaotic convoy, which includes the dead woman's teenage son, rebelling against everything, the exasperating journalist "covering" the story, an eccentric consul, and a cumbersome coffin, the HR manager rediscovers a little of his humanity and the taste for "human resources."
