A man who keeps a diary sinks little by little into madness. The loss of his fiancée, who he was madly in love with, plunges him into a painful mourning, the incurable evil. He is the lucid witness of his sliding towards madness. He tries to explain rationally the strange facts of which he is victim, surely someone acts in the shade and wants his loss: "Le Horla" ( his own madness). He tries to escape from it and to fight it in vain.
Adapted from Le Horla by Guy de Maupassant.
