In 1906, the viscount Paul of Barfleur fell in love with Cri-Cri Delagrange, a singer at "la vie parisienne" cabaret. But the father of the young man separates the lovers who, later each marries another. Forty-seven years later, in 1953, the grandson and the granddaughter of Paul and Cri-Cri respectively meet byaccident and also fall in love each other. Disapproving of this liaison, the father of the girl prepares to put and end to it. But the old Viscount of Barfleur who has never been consoled for not having married Cri-Cri, intervenes in times to save the happiness of the young couple.
