あらすじ
In 2025, as France hosts a crucial event for global maritime governance, the United Nations Ocean Conference (UN Ocean Conference), Marine Calmet, pioneer lawyer in the field of nature rights, is preparing an unprecedented lawsuit against the French government for negligence in its inaction regarding shark slaughter in Réunion. Alongside renowned oceanographer François Sarano and Didier Dérand, a Reunionese activist exhausted by years of intimidation, she is supervising a mock trial with law students. The film follows her relentless preparation, from the legal brief to the verbal jousting. The goal: to file an appeal against this legal slaughter, which has led to the killing of more than 752 sharks in Réunion since 2014, and to push the judge to recognize the Ocean's legal status. During the UN Ocean Conference, Marine will also attempt to rally NGOs from around the world regarding an ambitious text in favor of the rights of nature. A double challenge to try to make the oceans the new subjects of law of the 21st century.
