Murder at the Regulus Caves
あらすじ
A murder case shakes a small town when Julien Monnier is found stabbed to death near the troglodyte caves "of Régulus". An ancient book is found beside him. Grâce, a gendarmerie captain, is put in charge of the investigation and discovers similarities with a case from ten years ago: a young girl, Sarah, aged 17, had been found dead, also stabbed, in the same caves. Grâce called in Alex, his old childhood friend who had become an expert in old books. He had investigated Sarah's death when he was a gendarmerie officer. Despite himself, Alex plunges back into the past and agrees to help, partly to find Grâce, his lost love. Their reunion stirs up old feelings and painful memories of their separation. As the investigation unfolds, the memories of the protagonists and suspects become intertwined. Grâce and Alex revive their past, but is confronted by conflicting memories and things left unsaid.
