During the 31st edition of the Annecy International Animated Film Market (MIFA) (June15 through 17, 2016), Unifrance announced the results of French animation films abroad in 2015.
French animation films break admissions' records in international theaters in 2015:

3 animated works among the Top 10 French films abroad in 2015: The Little Prince, Asterix - The Mansion of the Gods, and Mune
Boosted by an exceptional international career, in 2015, The Little Prince became the most-seen French animated film in foreign theaters. le film d’animation français le plus vu dans les salles étrangères. To date, the film has tallied nearly 18 million admissions in sixty territories and recently lit up the screens in イタリア, where it has attracted more than 1.5 million spectators in 2016.
A few noteworthy figures about French animated productions
Between 2006 and 2015, 75 French animated features were released in foreign theaters. By integrating re-releases during this period of titles first released before 2006, the number increases to 90. With 64.1 million admissions in total, these films generated more than half (51.2%) of their overall admissions abroad during the decade.
Since the genre first appeared on the scene, more than 9 animation films out of 10 released in France have been released abroad.
In terms of short films, French animated productions also export well. In fact, compared to fictions and documentaries, this genre is favored by foreign distributors and major international film festivals, with, in particular, two French productions receiving Oscars recently: Logorama in 2010, and Mr Hublot in 2014. In 2014, animation represented 51.6% of the total volume of sales of French short films abroad, for 42.4% of total revenues.
