This is the number of interviews held during the festival. Representatives from a host of media organizations—and by no means the minor players (The Asahi Shimbun, Yomiuri Shimbun, Shukan Bunshun, AERA, Sankei Shimbun, Tokyo Shimbun, eiga.com, etc.)—have made the trip to Yokohama to meet with French artists. Regardless of whether or not the films have secured distributors, journalists have come out in force, asking very precise, well-informed questions that often differ from those asked by journalists in Europe. Éléa Gobbé-Mévellec and Michel Ocelot have notably praised their approach to discussing animated filmmaking, which is, after all, a specifically Japanese art form.
