To highlight the work of distributors of French films abroad, Unifrance has created, with the support of the CNC, the Unifrance Distribution Award, designed to reward a foreign distribution company whose promotional and release campaign for a French film has been judged particularly ambitious and innovative.nte.
The winning distributor will be chosen on December 10 by the members of the commission overseeing Selective Aid for Foreign Distribution, comprising sales representatives, distributors, and a specialist in digital strategies.
Beforehand, each Unifrance member export company will have pre-selected a marketing campaign from among the international releases of its films that benefited from this aid during the past year, in order to reduce the number of campaigns competing for the Unifrance Distribution Prize from 350 (the number of French films benefiting from this aid each year) to around 40.
The new award comes with a €10,000 endowment for the winner, taken from the annual budget of €2 million allocated by the CNC to Unifrance as part of its Selective Aid for Foreign Distribution program.
The first Unifrance Distribution Award will be presented during the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Paris, Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
