Released on 25 prints by Nutopia Entertainment on July 29, the film by Richard Berry has tallied more than 60,000 admissions to date.
Excellent word-of-mouth has carried the film to the top of the Greek box office for 3 consecutive weeks. According to 22 Bullets's distributor, Takis Veremis, the film's tremendous launch is due to its selection as the closing night film at the 11 th Festival du Film Francophone de Grèce - 2010 organized at the end of April by the French Institute in Athens in partnership with Unifrance.
On this occasion, Jean Reno and Richard Berry generated important press coverage, vital for the success of summer releases. Another determining factor was the choice of release date. Although apparently risky, it finally proved extremely lucrative. By banking on open-air theaters, Nutopia has proven that summer can be a very good period for French cinema.
L' Immortel has been sold by EuropaCorp in almost all the market territories. Apart from Benelux and Switzerland, it has already been released in Russia and the Ukraine, where it has also racked up high admissions (more than 430,000 in Russia and 53,000 in the Ukraine). Richard Berry's film is currently out on release in Turkey, Taiwan and Portugal, prior to major fall releases in, among other places, Germany and Austria.
