The film by Xavier Legrand scooped four prizes at the 35th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
Xavier Legrand's short film 全てを失う前に has won the festival's Grand Prize, as well as the Audience Prize, Youth Prize, and the Télérama Press Award.
This 30-minute film, rewritten and directed by Legrand, recounts the story of a young woman who decides to escape the domestic violence she has been forced to endure. But in her decision to leave everything behind, she is not alone. This social drama, whose cast includes Léa Drucker, Anne Benoît, and Eric Borgen, was produced by Alexandre Gavras for KG Productions. It also benefited from the 2012 Beaumarchais-SACD writing grant and from production aid.
The Special Jury Prize was awarded to Le sens de l'orientation by Fabien Gorgeart. Best Cinematography honors went to Léo Hinstin for his work on two films in competiton, Ce chemin devant moi by Mohammed Bourokba, known as Hamé, and Lisières by Grégoire Colin.
