About
"A declaration of intent is a terrible thing to have to write because when I make a film, I only intend to do it well and please people. Will I be clear all the same if I say I'd like to make a funny film about sorrow, a tender film about pain ? The basic idea is to show a young woman bruised and battered by life who is forced to take care of a 7-year-old kid that she has forgotten but who is none other than her daughter. They are almost the same age, one is just a little more mature than the other, the kid probably. They are both unhappy for various reasons, they know that the world is evil and yet, together, they are going to discover love, quite an undertaking in itself. I like the dignity of children and the way they tackle life. Then, later, they become cowards and actors. I would like to show how a kid helps her mother become an adult. There. In the style of the books I love, books by John Fante or Carson McCullers. It will be a film in motion, with roads, hotels, boats, people who meet, no end of lives blending. And delicacy. I'm not saying it will be easy."
