あらすじ
The first minutes of the film bind its characters to the ghosts of the past. One evening, a clown carries off little Garance. The only witness to Garance's kidnapping, another little girl, refuses to say what she has seen so as to get her revenge on Garance who had dared to wear the same dress as her.

About
"From "Les Dragueurs" (1959) to "Black For Remembrance" (1995), Jean-Pierre Mocky has had an iconoclastic and coherent career, marked by a refusal of established order, as well as a stubborn willingness to create a body of work that defies classification, whatever the subject, actors or production. Mocky, the troublemaker of French cinema, with his failings and mistakes, remains the most disobedient creator (in the noble meaning of the word) in our national cinema, both in form and content. With "Black For Remembrance", he enters a field where no one expected him : the world of the supernatural thriller. This dreamlike tale unfolds in an imaginary land where the deal rear up all around, under the implacable eye of a Mocky portraying a society consumed by corruption, sex and money."
(Eric Le Roy, Head of the restoration and collection access programme with the National Film Office archives, former assistant of Jean-Pierre Mocky)
