あらすじ
Nature imitates art.... Nicolas has never really pondered upon Oscar Wilde's aphorism. He paints everythings that makes up his life in the city : rapes, muggings, murders, blood, terror, a violence that he has never witnessed personally but that explodes in his paintings, with the full colors of life. Nicolas doesn't copy nature, he expresses it. He has the talent. One evening, he meets André Bellisle, a strange character, who tells him :"Only your work interrests me. I can make you famous and that excites me. But do you really want it ?..." Since that crucial evening, things have speeded up for Nicolas. A series of suicides, accidents and gory murders, all foreseen by Bellisle, who warned him "I'm a bit of a medium". Each time the artist is present and transcribes what he has seen with the force of truth. But what price must he pay for the promised success ?

About
"Could art be an expression of liberty ?Knowing how to renounce fashionable trends in order to express your most powerful and finest feelings is the most precious form of liberty. Nicholas's artistic path is paved with violence, voyeurism, sex and death. He is a witness to the world in which he lives. Someone wants to make him go further under the pretext of helping him better express his talent. He discovers that he is himself the source of this violence, that he is able to express it both in his life and in his art, and that if he accepts the quest for frame and money as his sole motivation, he will no longer be a witness but an actor. It's a matter of responsability but also of creative freedom. (Press kit, taken from the interview with Alain Jessua)
