About
"Karin Viard, who hates conventional films and unsurprising characters, was won over by Alain Tanner's screenplay for "Fourbi". This young actress (not yet thirty) has imposed a new acting style in a very short time : comic in Etienne Chatillez's "Tatie Danielle", eccentric in "Delicatessen", romantic in Christine Pascal's "Adultère, mode d'emploi"... "Directors want to transform me," she explains. "They think that I can belong to them completely. In my case, the first thing you sense in a film is the face and personality of the character." Before working with Alain Tanner, Karin Viard has appeared in films by younger directors such as Cédric Klapisch's "Little Nothings", Michel Spinosa's "Emmène-moi", Xavier Durringer's "La Nage indienne", Mathieu Kassovitz's "Hate"... "I feel closer to young directors because they take more risks and the parts they offer me allow me greater freedom."
