あらすじ
Paris by night. Nathalie is twenty. She flutters through life with the grace of a noctural butterfly, as if no one and nothing can reach her. Far from the gaze of others and the lights, she sells her body for a few crumpled bank-notes. Tof protects his sister with all the love he can muster, the absolute brotherly love that gives Nathalie the strength to go on. They're two kids lost in life. Like characters in a play by Brecht, they have tragically ordinary lives as they struggle with life's problems. Pierre, a shoemaker, disturbed by Nathalie's world, will have the experience of a rare and precious encounter. He meets her at the Select Hôtel, where the rooms, with their paper striped like prison bars, conceal the poetry of an underground world.

About
"People put their hearts into "Select Hôtel". Their passion. Their audacity. Against all the odds. "Select Hôtel" is above all my finest human experience. A tale of human beings. No more no less. This experience urges me to continue the work I've started. And this feeling is like a breath of freedom. A film can be a confrontation of ideas. A war waged by the director who is responsible for the vision offered. (...) Life has no rules and ignores fine feelings. Fine feelings lull people, erase life, make it a mirage. (...) The cinema is first and foremost about films, not an industry. A desire." (Laurent Bouhnik)
