あらすじ
They live with their mother... In Arcueil, a Paris suburb; Loïc takes the train. He wants to get to Paris, fast. Sophie doesn't know what she wants, but she wants something. She walks into big brother Loïc's life, just for a look. Waiting on the other end is Vincent, the trafficker, Loïc's buddy. Sophie will fall for him. Loïc will never forgive himself. She moves forward, he too, but in opposite directions. They share the same fighting spirit. Back in Arcueil, Tony and Virginie have also learned to fight. And even if the choice of arms is not theirs, they resist: "Our life is a journey into winter, into night. We seek our way through a sky where nothing shines". Sophie calls that love.

About
"Like Loïc and Sophie, I come from an "off-beat, outside-the-law, fringe" milieu. My parents were drifters. My dad was a docker on the Quai de la Gare. Back then, it was a no man's land between Paris and the suburbs. My mother ran a café. They were of a marginalised proletariat with neither social, geographical or family ties. The film was born out of that too. How do you deal with feeling that nowhere is home? How do you make a place for yourself? When, like Loïc, you accede to another milieu, what does that mean for you? Above all, I wanted to show people whose lives are tough, but who really live, so much so they could die from it. I wanted to defend them by refusing sordidness and shabbiness. My desire in film is to give people the urge to love." (Sylvie Verheyde)
