あらすじ
In modern Paris, Dominique leads the life of a well-off single woman, with a natural elegance enhanced by the style that goes with her job in a leading fashion house. When she meets Quentin in a gay bar, the young man's beauty sets her reeling. The promise of love, hoped for but unexpected, runs riot in her life. She makes Quentin quit his job, provides for his needs and moves him in with her.

About
For reasons of convenience, I asked Jacques Fieschi to write the script of “The School of Flesh” for me, based on the novel by Mishima, about which I knew almost nothing. It’s a routine part of film-making, but I’d never done it that way before and I was naturally very excited. I knew I was going to dream, but I didn’t know what about. Nevertheless, it’s unquestionably an “auteur” film. For me, making a film is not mainly about writing the script. It’s in the nitty-gritty of the mise-en-scène that the film becomes somebody’s creation. (Benoît Jacquot in “Libération”, November 18th, 1998)
