A man lies dead alongside a pair of railway tracks in South Aftrica. Madiba and Sipho, two teens from the townships, find a gun and video camera next to his body. Sipho grabs the gun. Madiba the camera. Once inseperable, the objects they choose now breaks them apart. Sipho becomes the boss of a gang of streetkids and roams the city looking for trouble, while Madiba becomes a filmmaker, capturing the life of his family and his neighborhood on film. They link up with Estelle, a kid from the chic part of town who finds her family life intensely suffocating. They're black, she's white. They don't see what difference their skin color makes, whereas it remains a sensitive issue for their parents, despite the end of Apartheid.
A film about an artist's first steps, the wrong turns taken by a rogue with a heart of gold, and young people's attempts to counteract the prejudices of the generations that came before them.
