あらすじ
Deseos exposes the ways in which medicine, the law, religion, and cultural traditions have shaped hegemonic discourse about gender and the sexual body, through the narrative of two parallel stories. The first story concerns Martina, who lived in Colombia during the late colonial period at the beginning of the nineteenth century. The second concerns a fictional story about Nour, who lived in Beirut at the end of the Ottoman Empire. Both historical documentary and fiction, the film presents an imaginary correspondence between these two women. Separated by a geography, cultures and religions, they must cope with the consequences of their homosexual relationships.
