Georges Bernanos, Story of a free man
あらすじ
A major, 20th century literary figure and a witness fully engaged in the great events of his time, Georges Bernanos was also a whistleblower and a visionary. Throughout his life, he fought against totalitarism, skewed ideological thinking, capitalism, consumer society, political compromises, and the instrumentalization of people. He did so by violently taking a position, without ever giving in to conformism. Bernanos's grandson and grandnephew bring a new light to bear on the most anti-conformist writer of his period, the intensity of whose texts still resonate today.

Sixteen-year-old Diane exists exclusively through her mother's gaze. But this intensely close bond between Diane and her mother, Sophie, is becoming increasingly problematic for the teenager. At high school, she would like to be loved like she is at home and expresses it in an awkward way like when she exchanges a favor for a look, in the toilets. A loudmouth, provocative, and seeking attention, Diane tries to stand apart from her mother and wishes, during a weekend, to live like an adult.
